Congratulations to Covenant House Illinois on the ribbon cutting for their new youth shelter in #EastGarfieldPark.

MKB Architects attended the opening celebrations for the completion of Phases 1 & 2 out of 3 for Covenant House’s redevelopment, a facility intended to serve as temporary housing and programming for unsheltered youth in the communtity.

Attendees included Congressman Danny Davis, Senator Dick Durbin, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Alderman Walter Burnett, Illinois Comptroller Susan Mendoza, and representatives from the offices of Mayor Lightfoot, Governor Pritzker, and Senator Tammy Duckworth. All expressed their support of Covenant House Illinois and shared personal stories.

MKB is proud to have helped Covenant House Illinois continue their mission of serving youth who are experiencing homelessness through the renovation of their new facility.
